Why Renewable Energy? |
It is observed that the consumption of conventional energy source has caused more
environmental damage than any other human activity. Electricity generated from fossil
fuels such as coal and crude oil has led to high concentration of harmful gases
in the atmosphere. This has in turn lead too many problems such as global warming.
The energy sources such as the Sun, Wind, Geothermal, water, bio mass etc can never
be exhausted and therefore are called renewable. They are source, which are ecologically
safe and almost infinite, or would replenish themselves in our lifetime.

Why Solar Energy?
India is one of the few countries with long days and plenty of sunshine. The Sun
is the single largest source of energy for the entire solar system. In less than
1 hour of daylight, the SUN releases upon the Earth an amount of energy that is
consumed by the entire population of the planet in 1 year. This energy is clean,
it is renewable, it is free, it is abundant and it is everywhere. This makes it
one of the most promising alternatives to the conventional energy sources.

What is Solar Water Heater? How it works?
Solar Water Heater is a device that uses solar energy to heat water. A solar water
heater comprises a blackened flat plate collector with associated metal
tubing, facing the sun. The collector is provided with a transparent glass cover
and a layer of thermal insulation beneath the plate. The collector tubing is connected
by a pipe to an insulated tank that stores hot water during non sunny periods.
Basically
it is a thermosiphon system works on principle that warm water rising above, it
is also known as natural convection. As water in the collector heats, it becomes
lighter and rises naturally into the tank above. Cold water flows from the bottom
of the storage tank to the collector, from which heated water rises to the top of
the storage tank. |

Why Solar Water Heater?
After initial investment at the time of installation of the system, there are no
operating costs, no or very low maintenance, hens it gives hot water free of cost
after installation. Whoever invests in a solar heating system is also investing
in the future. In addition to that using solar water heating system, one is actively
contributing to the lowering of environmentally harmful CO² emissions. |

Can redren solar collector heat water to an enough high temperature?
Generally redren collector is designed to provide a daily temperature rise of around
35-50oC in good weather condition. For Indian, design a domestic system which gives
hot water at 60oC in winter. However for industrial application system can be design
to give any output temperature up to 90oC. |
What maintenance redren SWH required?
Under normal working condition no or less maintenance is required. |
What are other applications of redren solar collector?
Redren solar collectors can be connected in series or parallel to get large amount
of hot water for a commercial setting such as a hostel, hotel, industry, or office
building. There is really no limit to the size of the system. |

Can redren solar water heating system use to heat swimming pool?
Using a solar system to heat a swimming pool is the most common now days. For large
scale swimming pools, solar water heating system may be an extremely viable supplement
to gas or electricity. Solar pool-heating systems increase pool's water temperature
by 10 degrees or more, and they can extend the swimming season by two to three months.
